Teacher Appreciation Week is here! May 4-8.
TARGET: Our Teachers & Staff are the Real Deal!
DFS Teacher & Staff Appreciation Week is May 4th-8th. The DFS PTA is excited to celebrate our teachers and staff with surprises all week long! Students can participate each day by following the prompts below and as noted on the attached flyer!
- Monday, May 4th: Students can wear red (Target uniform style) to kick off the week!
- Tuesday, May 5th: Students can bring teacher(s)/staff a drawing or note of appreciation. Let them know why they are “the real deal” and how they help “keep you on target!” (See link - make as many as you would like).
- Wednesday, May 6th: Students can wear purple/DFS Spiritwear to celebrate all of our exceptional teachers & staff!
- Thursday, May 7th: Students can bring teachers/staff their favorite treat or give a small token of appreciation (like a $5 gift card). See the “staff favorite things” spreadsheet for more information. If a teacher/staff member is missing, they did not submit information to us.
- Friday, May 8th: Students can dress like their favorite teacher/staff member OR wear green (Starbucks barista style) as teachers are treated to snacks and beverages from a “mobile Starbucks beverage cart.”
REMINDER: Don’t forget to think about all of the teachers and staff that your child interacts with: classroom teachers, paras, specials (gym, art, music, learning commons), math/reading specialists, special education teachers, nurse, security guard, principal, front office staff, lunch aides, custodians, interns, etc.
Volunteers: If you are interested, there is a sign up to help with decorating on May 1st at 4pm as well as the mobile beverage cart and someone to dress like Flippy on May 8th (signup via Membership Toolkit).
